Project Meeting - Berlin
4i-TRACTION Berlin Project Meeting
The 4i-TRACTION consortium convened in Berlin for a two-day project meeting on June 16-17. Project partners came to Berlin from all over Europe to attend what is the first in-person meeting since the project began in summer 2021.
The meeting was hosted by Ecologic Institute and took place in a post-industrial site the middle of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, right beside the river Spree.
The two-day meeting gave room for taking stock of the first year of the project, discussing its progress so far and what may be improved upon. Project partners presented preliminary results, discussed key messages and coordinated how the different outputs may be taken up in other tasks. Moreover, a trial run of the policy labs planned to take place in September in Brussels took place and provided valuable insights and feedback for improving the actual event.
The consortium also visited the Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change (MCC) one afternoon to discuss the future of EU climate policy amidst changing geopolitical realities. Anthony Cox, former Deputy Environment Director at the OECD, and Brigitte Knopf, Secretary General of the MCC, two renown climate policy experts, provided their perspectives and exchanged views with the consortium.
Below are some impressions from the meeting.
